At 500 units or less, the first 200 units are free. Above 500 units, only the first 100 units are free. Select the branch using total consumption before applying the slab rates.

These are net consumer rates after subsidy. Do not deduct the free units again from these calculations.

500 → 501 units: Rs. 1,570 → Rs. 2,048. Units 101–200 become payable at Rs. 4.70. The new 501st unit costs Rs. 8.40. The unrounded increase is Rs. 478.40.
Charges and rounding
Fixed charge is nil. This estimator adds no extra tax or minimum charge, matching the official calculator. Whole-unit energy totals are charged using exact paise. Only the final bill is rounded to the nearest rupee; a half rupee rounds upward.

These rates follow the official TNPDCL calculator, observed on 8 October 2026. The scope is ordinary domestic LT I-A, with a two-month billing cycle.
TNERC Order No. 5 of 2026 introduces the additional free units from 10 May 2026. The calculator’s live output is the basis for the rates shown here.
