TNEB bill calculator
Start with the consumed units on your bill. The calculator does the slab calculation for you.
Rates as per TNPDCL, October 2026Use consumed units, not the meter total
Your meter records cumulative electricity use. For one bill, use the difference between the current and previous meter readings. If the bill already shows consumed units, enter that figure directly.
Select “2 months” for a normal two-month total. If you know only a typical month’s use, select “1 month”. The calculator doubles that estimate before applying the two-month slabs.
Example: 400 units
The first 200 units are free. The next 200 units cost Rs. 4.70 each. The estimated bill is Rs. 940, with no fixed charge, extra tax or minimum charge added.
Check the 500-unit boundary. At 500 units, the bill is Rs. 1,570. At 501 units, it is Rs. 2,048. The increase includes the loss of 100 free units.
What the estimate covers
This is an ordinary domestic LT I-A energy estimate. It does not include arrears, deposits, late-payment charges or account-specific adjustments. It is not a payment service.
The monthly budget is half the estimated two-month bill. It helps you set money aside. It does not use the utility’s separate monthly tariff.
Whole units and whole rupees
The estimator rounds the full two-month consumption once to a whole unit, with 0.5 upward. It then applies the slabs and rounds the final bill to the nearest rupee, with Rs. 0.50 upward.
For payment, check your actual bill through TNPDCL.
